There is also some stain and corrosion at the very back and in a couple of small spots, as well as some scratches and gouges near the gear change shaft hole and above the kick starter shaft hole. It has a small dimple with a crack below the hole for the gear change shaft. Being that it is dry cover, oil leakage would not be a problem, but the dimple could be a cosmetic issue.

Otherwise there is no other significant damage, and all threads appear to be in good condition. The cover does not lay perfectly flat, mostly around the kick starter gear change areas, but since oil leakage is not a concern, this should not be much of an issue. This used outer timing cover, part fits the 1963 thru 1969 Bsa 500cc 650cc twins.
