This cylinder jug top end is meticulously crafted from top-tier materials to ensure superior quality and unmatched performance. The components are precisely engineered to fit seamlessly into your KTM engine, ensuring a perfect fit and minimal installation time.
The jug top end includes several critical parts, such as the piston, piston rings, cylinder head, and camshafts. The piston is made from a forged aluminum alloy, ensuring exceptional strength and durability. It is also designed with a compressive ring groove to optimize the sealing of the piston rings, reducing the risk of blow-by and increasing engine efficiency.
The cylinder head is CNC-machined from high-strength aluminum for excellent heat dissipation and reduced weight. It features optimized porting and spark plug location to improve engine breathing and combustion efficiency. Additionally, the cylinder head comes with pre-installed, high-performance camshafts designed to deliver maximum power and torque across the entire RPM range.
The piston rings are manufactured from a high-tensile, low-friction material to minimize ring wear and ensure optimal sealing. They are also designed with a precision-ground surface finish to ensure a perfect fit within the cylinder bore and reduce the risk of ring groove scuffing.
This competition cylinder jug top end is an excellent choice for racers and enthusiasts who demand the very best from their motorbikes. It provides increased power, improved engine efficiency, and enhanced reliability, allowing you to push your KTM to its absolute limits.

The KTM 250SX, 250EXC, and 250MXC are enduro and motocross motorcycles manufactured by KTM from 1996 to 1997. The comp cylinder jug top end refers to the composite cylinder head that was an upgrade option for these models, offering improved power and durability. Here are some pros and cons of buying a used KTM 250SX, 250EXC, or 250MXC with a comp cylinder jug top end.
Pros:1. Power and Performance: The comp cylinder head provides improved power and torque, making the bike more responsive and faster than the standard version.
2. Durability: The composite material used in the cylinder head is lighter and stronger than the aluminum head, reducing the weight of the bike and providing better heat dissipation, resulting in a longer engine life.
3. Rare and Sought-After: The comp cylinder head was an optional upgrade, making bikes with this feature rare and sought-after among collectors and enthusiasts.
4. Classic Design: These bikes are part of KTM's rich history, and owning one with a comp cylinder head adds to the bike's value and appeal.
Cons:1. Cost: The comp cylinder head was an optional upgrade, which means that it may be more expensive to purchase a used bike with this feature than a standard one.
2. Availability of Spare Parts: Due to the rarity of these bikes, finding spare parts, especially for the comp cylinder head, may be challenging and more expensive than for standard models.
3. Complexity: The comp cylinder head is a more complex design than the standard aluminum head, which may require more maintenance and care.
4. Compatibility: The comp cylinder head may only be compatible with specific engine models or years, limiting the number of bikes that can use this upgrade.
Conclusion:Buying a used KTM 250SX, 250EXC, or 250MXC with a comp cylinder jug top end can provide improved power, durability, and rarity, but it also comes with higher costs, limited availability of spare parts, and increased complexity. Ultimately, the decision to buy one of these bikes depends on your budget, maintenance capabilities, and personal preference for a classic and powerful motorcycle.
Recommendation:If you're in the market for a used enduro or motocross bike with a comp cylinder head, it's important to do thorough research on the specific model and year you're interested in. Look for reliable sellers, ask for detailed information about the bike's condition and history, and be prepared for potentially higher costs and maintenance requirements. Additionally, consider factors such as availability of spare parts, compatibility with other upgrades, and your personal riding style and preferences before making a purchase.
Will fit other model's, check to make sure it fits yours before buying. Came off a running 1996 KTM 250SX. In good condition. I'll remove the cap soon for better images.
Garage kept, low hours, well maintained. Needs to be repaired. Comes with all internals shown. Possibly just a hone but it has what looks like split, I'm not sure.
Comes with everything in the pictures. The bike did run, but didn't have great compression, took maybe 5 kicks to get her running. If your in the USA, I will always try to ship two day air if possible. Either way needs repair.
Nothing has been removed from under the valve cap.
