Review TRIUMPH BSA Cylinder Head fits TROPHY B25 1968–1970

The 1968-69 Triumph Trophy TR25W, also known as the BSA B25, is a classic motorcycle that embodies the spirit of the golden age of British motorcycling. This model features a powerful and reliable 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 248 cc (40-930), which delivers a smooth and responsive ride.

The cylinder head of the TR25W is a standout feature, designed with precision and craftsmanship to ensure optimal engine performance. The head is equipped with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and two valves per cylinder, which allows for efficient intake and exhaust, resulting in strong power output and excellent fuel efficiency.

The TR25W features a robust and reliable frame made of high-tensile steel, which provides excellent handling and stability. The bike's suspension system, comprising telescopic forks up front and a swingarm with dual shock absorbers at the rear, ensures a comfortable ride over a variety of terrains.

The TR25W also boasts a stylish and functional design, with its classic round headlights, twin exhaust pipes, and elegant fuel tank. The bike's low-slung seat and narrow waist make it easy to maneuver in tight spaces, while its long wheelbase and wide handlebars provide a stable and confident riding position.

In summary, the 1968-69 Triumph Trophy TR25W is a timeless classic that combines power, reliability, and style. With its powerful engine, robust frame, and comfortable ride, this bike is a joy to ride and a worthy addition to any motorcycle enthusiast's collection.

The 1968-69 Triumph Trophy TR25W and BSA B25 are classic motorcycles that share many similarities due to their shared origins and engine specifications. Both bikes are powered by a 250cc twin-cylinder engine with a 4-speed transmission, and they feature a traditional British bike design with a dual seat, drum brakes, and a steel frame.

Pros of buying a 1968-69 Triumph Trophy TR25W or BSA B25:

1. Affordability: Compared to newer motorcycles, these classic bikes are relatively inexpensive to purchase, especially if you look for a used model in good condition.

2. Unique Appeal: These bikes have a classic and timeless design that is sure to turn heads on the road. They are a great option for riders who appreciate the look and feel of vintage motorcycles.

3. Easy to Maintain: The simple mechanical design of these bikes makes them easy to maintain and repair, which can help keep costs down over time.

4. Smooth Ride: The twin-cylinder engine provides a smooth and pleasant ride, making these bikes a good choice for commuting or leisurely rides.

5. Parts Availability: Due to their popularity, parts are relatively easy to find for these bikes, which can help keep them running smoothly.

Cons of buying a 1968-69 Triumph Trophy TR25W or BSA B25:

1. Limited Performance: Compared to modern motorcycles, these classic bikes have limited performance capabilities. They are not designed for high-speed riding or long-distance touring.

2. Lack of Modern Features: These bikes do not have many of the modern features that are common on newer motorcycles, such as electronic fuel injection, ABS brakes, and digital displays.

3. Limited Comfort: The traditional design of these bikes can make them less comfortable for long rides, especially for taller riders or those with back problems.

4. Maintenance Requirements: While the mechanical design of these bikes is simple, they do require regular maintenance to keep them running smoothly. This can be time-consuming and may require some mechanical knowledge.

5. Depreciation: Due to their age and limited performance capabilities, these classic bikes may depreciate in value over time, which can make it difficult to sell them if you decide to upgrade or move on to a different bike.

Conclusion: If you are a classic motorcycle enthusiast looking for an affordable and unique ride, the 1968-69 Triumph Trophy TR25W or BSA B25 could be a great option. However, it is important to consider the limitations of these bikes and whether they will meet your needs and expectations. If you are looking for a high-performance bike or one with modern features, you may want to consider a different option.

Recommendation: If you are interested in purchasing a 1968-69 Triumph Trophy TR25W or BSA B25, I would recommend doing your research and finding a model in good condition. Look for a bike that has been well-maintained and has a clean title. It is also a good idea to budget for regular maintenance and repairs, as these bikes will require some upkeep to keep them running smoothly. Consider joining a local classic motorcycle club or forum to connect with other owners and learn more about these bikes.

Details:

The combustion chamber is not cracked. This unit was removed from a 1970 Triumph Trophy free shipping in the continental USA. The valves came out very easily, they were not frozen or galled.

See pictures of valves. I see no damage or unusual wear. Offered is a used Triumph-Bsa cylinder head, pn, on Triumph Trophy 250 TR25W, and Bsa B25 model motorcycles.

I am selling as parts or not working because it may need valve guides and a job. No stripped threads, cracks, welds.

I have completely disassembled this unit for your inspection. I do not deliver to PO. Boxes unless USPS shipping is specified in the ad.

No broken fins, but one slightly bent fin, pictured, and some minor damage dings here there on the ends of other breaks or cracks. Missing one bolt, and threads on the end of bolt are damaged.

Valve heads and seats look good. I will always combine shipping for winners of multiple offers.
